The weather was divine all weekend long, sitting in the +10-15 range, unheard of for early April in Saskatchewan. We celebrated with long walks, wiener roasts around the fire pit and downing some beers on the deck.
We had my grandparents over for the family meal on Easter Sunday and my grandfather brought with him my next epic adventure. I am teaching myself how to play violin and to help out, my grandfather is lending me his first violin that he bought for $25 when he was 20 years old, ordered from the Eaton's catalogue. I am going to practice every day and already can do a passable set of scales and a rudimentary Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. I love going home!
Oh what a lovely family you have! I am so excited for you learning the violin! Good on you. I've played ever since I was a little tacker. Neither of my boys were interested in learning so the 2 little violins of my youth are mounted on the wall of my Great Room. I still play my 'grown up one' with my big boy when he plays guitar... we play a mean Green Day, Time Of Your Life together! Are there going to be 'Andrea You Tube Violin Videos'? What a treasure playing your Grandfather's violin... I bet he is chuffed! A-M xx
